KOMMUNITY INSTRUCTOR ROLE

REQUIREMENTS
- You’ve got to be fit, passionate, inspiring and ready to have fun!
- Availability to train early mornings, later evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, outgoing, and perceptive personality with a strong sense of integrity and self-confidence.
- Energizing, positive, and optimistic attitude.
- Drive and enthusiasm to help others reach their goals.
- Dependable and reliable.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a desire to build strong interpersonal relationships with all members and teammates.
Required Certifications:
- Current Instructor or Personal Training Certification and experience from leading group training or working as a personal trainer.
- Current CPR + First Aid Certification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructors at a Kommunity Fitness studio are key figures responsible for creating a top-notch fitness experience unlike any other. They play a crucial role in motivating, inspiring and energizing members and the safety of participants during our fitness classes.
Here are some of the primary responsibilities of instructors at a premium group fitness studio:
- Motivate Members: Encourage and motivate participants to give their best effort during the class, creating a positive and energetic atmosphere.
- Interact with Members: Build a rapport with class attendees, addressing them by name, providing individual feedback, and offering encouragement.
- Safety Awareness: Ensure the safety of participants by closely monitoring their movements and correcting any potential risky form.
- Provide Modifications: Offer modifications and progressions for exercises to accommodate various fitness levels and ensure inclusivity in the class.
- Music Volume: Synchronize appropriate music volume to specific parts of the workouts that complement the intensity and rhythm.
- Time Management: Keep the class on schedule and effectively manage time to provide a balanced and well-rounded workout experience.
- Stay Informed: Keep up to date with weekly prep and all edits to class structure and set up.
- Handle Equipment: Properly set up and demonstrate the use of fitness equipment, ensuring it is used safely and effectively by participants.
- Post-Class Interaction: Be available after class to answer participants’ questions, provide additional guidance, and foster a sense of community.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized workout space, including tidying up equipment and ensuring hygiene protocols are followed.
- Feedback and Evaluation: Solicit feedback from participants and studio management to continuously improve teaching techniques and class offerings.
- Collaborate with Kommunity Team: Work collaboratively with other instructors and studio staff to promote teamwork and a cohesive fitness community.
- Follow Studio Policies: Adhere to studio policies and guidelines regarding class scheduling, attendance tracking, and reporting.
- Exude Passion: Demonstrate genuine passion for fitness and wellness, inspiring participants to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.

Our classes:
- K-HIIT – Kommunity’s high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts will have members exerting maximum energy during short periods of time followed by brief periods of recovery. Our HIIT workouts are considered both strength training and cardio workouts because they include cardio like jumping jacks and strength training like squats or lifting weights.
- K-CARDIO – Our cardio classes are designed to get our members’ heart rates up and keep them up for most of the class. Members will blast calories in a fun, easy-to-follow, endorphine- generating class.
- K-STRENGTH – Resistance training designed to deliver maximum pump and results in a short period of time using free weights and body weight resistance.
